Bellefield at Historic Hyde Park is situated directly across from the world-renowned Culinary Institute of America and less than a mile south of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum.

 

The area also boasts several wineries, arboretums, and an extensive network of parks and recreation centers with facilities. Visitors can enjoy hiking across The Walkway Over the Hudson or on the Empire State Rail Trail, as well as boating on the Hudson River, skiing in the Catskill Mountains, or enjoy some fine wine at the nation’s oldest winery, Brotherhood Winery.

Often referred to as America’s Breadbasket because of its historic production of food for the New York metro market, the Hudson River Valley takes great pride in its food and wine traditions. Visitors and residents of Bellefield will have a cornucopia of fine fare to enhance the fine living, with a deep connection to the land, region, history and culture.

Bellefield will become an internationally-recognized culinary tourism destination featuring one-of-a-kind restaurant offerings by notable chefs. Regionally, the project will be known as the premier showcase for locally-produced food, wine and produce— including the freshest fare from Bellefield’s on-site farms.

Bellefield is within close proximity to Vassar College, Bard College, Marist College, Dutchess Community College, The Culinary Institute of America, SUNY New Paltz and the United States Military Academy at West Point.*

These colleges have a combined student population of 35,000 within 18 miles and account for $354.4 million annually of the region’s economy.

Dutchess County attracts nearly 5 million visitors each year with its many wineries, galleries and events, such as the Dutchess Fair. The Walkway Over The Hudson alone draws as many as 600,000 visitors annually.

Other area attractions include the Franklin D. Roosevelt Library and Museum, Vanderbilt Mansion, and The Culinary Institute of America.
