GOSHEN, N.Y. (August 17, 2018) – Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation (HVEDC) announced the appointment of Dominic Cordisco, a partner at the law firm Drake Loeb PLLC, and Thomas Mulroy, Chairman and CEO of T-Rex Capital Group to its Board of Directors.
Cordisco began his legal career as Regional Attorney for Region Three of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and has carried that background in environmental matters into private practice, working with municipalities and private clients, including LEGOLAND New York and Angry Orchard. Cordisco previously served as chairman of the board of the Orange County Partnership, and is a member-at-large of the New York State Bar Association Environmental Law Section. He is also a board member of both the Black Rock Forest Consortium and the Orange County Citizens Foundation.
“We are pleased to welcome Dominic to our Board,” said Mike Oates, President and CEO of HVEDC. “His profound understanding of environmental law, especially as applicable to matters of economic development, represents enormous opportunity for the Hudson Valley and its residents.”
Cordisco’s commitment to the Hudson Valley has previously been honored with the Orange County Partnership’s Most Valued Partner award, as well as the Henry Award for Valley Visionaries bestowed by Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress.
“I look forward to the collaborative opportunities that I will have as part of this eminent Board,” said Cordisco. “This is a wonderful opportunity to work toward the benefit of the people and businesses in the Hudson Valley who are passionate about our heritage, our diverse and valued resources, and opportunities for economic vitality.”
Mulroy founded T-Rex Capital Group in 1999 and now serves as its CEO. The group’s latest project is Bellefield at Historic Hyde Park, a world-class hospitality, culinary and sustainable “agrihood” destination developing in Dutchess County. Prior to founding T-Rex, Mulroy served as Senior VP of Investments at Starwood Financial, handling origination, structuring and financially engineering investments in leveraged commercial real estate transactions. Prior to Starwood, he was Senior VP at Lazard Frères & Co.
“Tom has been a supporter of economic development and tourism in the Hudson Valley for some time, and his group’s Bellefield project is an excellent example of that,” said Oates. “It is wonderful to welcome him to our Board, and we look forward to the continued positive impact his role here will have on the Hudson Valley.”
Mulroy is also a member of The New York State Governors Tourism Advisory Council and The Mitt Romney National Finance Committee.
“I look forward to working with all of my fellow Board members who strive every day to make the Hudson Valley a statewide leader in business attraction and expansion,” said Mulroy.
